Your Child's First Visit
Your baby’s first dental visit should happen within six months of their first tooth coming in, or by their first birthday at the latest. Early visits allow your dentist to monitor development, identify any concerns early on, and provide guidance to support your child’s oral health.

Preventive Dental Hygiene
Bringing your child in for regular checkups and cleanings from a young age helps protect their baby teeth until it’s time for their adult teeth to come in. During each visit, we’ll go over simple brushing and flossing tips to make sure their smile is getting the care it needs at home. If there’s any risk of tooth decay, we can suggest preventive treatments to keep problems from developing.
Restorative Dental Services
If your child develops a cavity or chips a tooth, your dentist may also recommend restorative treatments such as dental fillings and crowns.
Hospital-Based Dental Treatment for Children
For children who are very young, have special needs, or require complex dental procedures, Dr. MacRae can provide treatment in a hospital setting using general anesthesia.
Through a special partnership with Summerland Health Centre, Dr. MacRae performs surgeries and other dental procedures that can't be completed safely in a regular clinic environment.
This ensures your child receives care in a fully equipped, safe, and compassionate medical setting when needed.
Dr. MacRae's team will guide you through the entire process, from pre-surgical screening to post-operative care.
